We have over 160 years of combined history between our Companies since they were first founded  – R&I (1948) our parent Company Hardman Bros (1953) and our other sister Company Marks 4WD (1979)

We have over 100 different machines located within 3 buildings with over 7,500 m² of floor space located on 5 acres of land.

• CNC Gear Grinding (Ø 800 mm x 600 mm width)
• Gear cutting Ø 2.0mm to Ø 160 mm   (Hardman Bros to Ø 1500 mm)
• CNC Lathes – including Sub spindles; Y-axis; Swiss-style gang tool and Robot loading
• CNC Milling – 5 Axis simultaneous (pallet loading) & 3 or 4-axis (inc 3 mt bed)
  Latest addition June 2022 – Hermle C42U with 17 pallets and provision for 570 Tools for continuous operation.
• CNC Vertical Lathe – Max Ø 1200 mm with C axis milling.
• CNC Cylindrical Grinding & Surface grinding
• Precision Honing Ø 3 – 150 mm
• CAD / CAM (Solidworks and Mastercam)
• Horizontal & Vertical Broaches; Internal Keyway Slotting to 800 mm long.

Metrology / Inspection supported by a full-time Quality Inspector and access to two dedicated inspection rooms (one in full-time use) with a huge range of inspection equipment including

• CMM – Brown & Sharp 1500 x 900 x 800 mm fitted with Renishaw PH20 head & probes
• Vision Inspection – MicroVu; Optical Comparators and Gear Inspection
• Hardness Testing  and  Surface Tester  (Mititoyo & Accrutech)
• Extensive range of Metrology equipment
• Dedicated Quality Inspector.
• Temperature-controlled inspection room.
